Another Fine Day…

First time in a bit that I’ve posted in a while… I’ve been spending time listening to old and new things. Making small new discoveries as usual.
Jazzanova is the name. And it is some of the most brilliant sound that I have heard in a long time. Surprised was I to learn that Stereolab did a nice remix for them entitled “Another Fine Day” as part of the Another New Day Remixes.

It’s strange, because my brother discovered Jazzanova during his holiday excursion in town visiting the his favourite “me lasses” (as we are affectionately called by him). I think the discovery humbled him immensely because he sadly claims, “no need to make music anymore!” He was so smitten, as was I, by the wealth of creativitiy that they hold, that you do wonder where they get it all from… and they have so much of it. Believe me, F. will be making music again, contrary to what he says, but after a nice break to regroup, refresh, and be reinspired. This, for any artist, is needed before they start cranking it out again.

Speaking of music… I long to mix a few tracks, so I went back and relistened with fresher ears to the collection of CDs that my brother recorded about a year and a half ago for me to work on. I put up a few for download online earlier last year, but I feel like redoing them all again and adding more new ones. Music is time consuming, but when one has the time it can be fun and exhilirating…
