I’ve been here since yesterday morning and Santiago is a very pleasant city. Chileans are very warm and welcoming and extremely relaxed.
Last night’s cocktail after the ceremony was a lot of fun. I ended up having to switch languages quickly from conversation to conversation. I was tired enough from my flight to start even adding a bits and pieces of a few Italian phrases with my friend’s Sicilian father and stepmother. There were many hors-d’oeuvres to try and much, much, Chilean wine. To hell with any headache I may have had! I decided to do enjoy it anyway. I definitely slept like a rock that evening.
Today, we headed to see Valparaíso, quite a quaint historic seaport. It was invited to apply as a Historic World Heritage site by UNESCO.
More soon!
