Introversion…

I saw an interesting post by a DC Blogger. The post rang like an eerily familiar bell, as I am a big introvert myself.

Socializing isn’t my forte (although I can pull it off when forced to) and I don’t easily engage with strangers in conversation unless there is a very good reason to do so. Solitude is my favorite thing and I spend much time in introspection rather than gushing out my feelings all over the place since I am very reticent to show emotion.
As such, I likely come across as an aloof person… so be it. More than one person has said to me that their first impression of me has been more on the you-are-an-intimidating-person side. Yes… I have even heard the description of a prickly porcupine. ;) In some ways it is good because I don’t have to put up with half the bullshit conversations and people that others allow themselves to put up with. On the other hand, it is not so good because you end up becoming an unapproachable person. It was interesting for once to read about other people out there in the area who are similar as introverts in a world of extroverts.
