Today, I was working diligently on some projects at work today, listening to an archived Janice Long radio show on BBC featuring Moz (Oh… that’s Morrissey’s nick for those who don’t know). The pics on the BBC Web site show the 43 year old looking much older (hints of gray) and more distinguised (than I remember him) these days. His life in California hasn’t been unkind to him at all… Believe it or not, it’s the first time I’ve actually heard his soft Mancunian speaking voice. It’s one thing to hear it in song, and another to actually hear it spoken…
I talked to two of my very good friends in Belgium last night on the phone for a long time. It was so nice to catch up with A. since she moved to Brussels (and doesn’t have a phone), and her boyfriend M. (who has a phone) and was accepted to attend the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam for two years. M. is a burgeoning contemporary Belgian artist who does very interesting pieces. I am so happy for him because the Rijksakademie is a very hard school to get into. I have another friend who is writing a book, and one of the main characters in his story is inspired by M. That’s brilliant.
